The teams entering the tournament have placed among the top four teams in their leagues during the Spring Split.

Riot has announced the Day 1 and Day 2 schedule of the MSC on May 28th with the opening match featuring recent LCK Spring Split Champions T1 against the current world champions FunPlus Phoenix.
The Mid-Season Cup is a four-day event, running from Thursday, May 28 to Sunday, May 31.
The opening match between T1 and FPX will be on May 28 at 3:00pm gmt +8.
The tournament will happen entirely online, without the presence of a live audience.
The LCK teams will be playing from the LoL Park, in Seoul, South Korea, and the LPL teams playing from the LPL Arena, in Shanghai, China.
To ensure players have proper technical conditions, Riot Games will make the use of alternative tools to create the ideal ping of 30-40m/s.
